Note:
The Madras Rupee standard coins were struck for the Decca and Chittagong districts of the Bengali Presidency at the Calcutta mint during the years 1823-1825. They are distinguished by the mark of a rose. Further mintings of the rupee half and quarter took place during the period 1830-1835. These still have the rose mark but they also bear a privy mark (a tiny crescent) of the new Calcutta mint.
