Obverse: Bare head of King William IV to right, incuse F on truncation of neck, divided legend around (WILLIAM / IIII, KING.), beaded border.
Reverse: Denomination in two languages in centre, in English in two lines above (ONE RUPEE) and in Persian below (Yek Rupiya = One Rupee), within laurel wreath tied with ribbon below. Legend around (EAST INDIA COMPANY), date (1840) between two rosettes at bottom, a dot after the date, beaded border.
