Obverse:
Persian legend. In centre within a linear circle the Shahada, or Kalima-e-Tayyab, (from top to bottom: La Ilah illa Allah / Rasul Allah / Mohammad = (There is) no god but Allah (and) Muhammad (is the) Messenger (of) Allah). In the margin the names of the four Caliphs without attributes and the Ruler's titles (clockwise, starting at 3 o'clock: Abu Bakr / Umar / Uthman / (mint mark) / Ali / al-Sultan / al-Adil / (mint mark) = Abu Bakr, Omar, Osman, (mint mark), Alì, the Sultan, the Just, (mint mark)).

Reverse:
Persian legend. In centre within a linear circle the Ruler's name, title and pius wish (from top to bottom: Shah / Sher / al-Sultan Khallad Allah / mulkahu wa sultanahu = Sher Shah, the Sultan, may Allah perpetuate his reign and his sultanate). In the margin the Ruler's laqab and kunyah, with his name in Nagari, the Mint name and the date (clockwise, starting at 6 o'clock: Zarb Satgaon Farid al-dunya wa'l din Abu al-Muzaffar (in Nagari, from left to right: Sri Sar Shah) 950 = Struck at Satgaon, Unique One of the world and of the faith, Father of the Victorius, (in Nagari: Sri Sher Shah), 950).
