Obverse: Persian couplet, Emperor name and titles (Sikka zad bar haft kishwar saya fazl Ilah Hami ud-din Muhammad, Shah Alam, Badshah = Defender of the religion of Muhammad, Shah Alam, Emperor, shadow of the divine favour, put his stamp on the seven climes), fish mark on the left and date (1219) at bottom right.
Reverse: Persian legend, mint name and double regnal year, 17 frozen (Zarb Muhammadabad Banaras sanat 17 / 46 julus maimanat manus = Struck at Muhammadabad Banaras in the 17 / 43 year of his reign of tranquil prosperity).
