Obverse:
Persian legend. Couplet with the Ruler's name and titles (from bottom to top: Sikka zad bar sim / zar Zaman Shah yamin wa yasari / bi-hokam Ilahi = Struck coin on silver and gold by the Divine command, Shah Zaman, right hand and left hand (of the State)). The date (1213) is below the top line at left.

Reverse:
Persian legend. Mint name with epithet within linear circle (From top to bottom: zarb Hirat Dar-us-Saltanat = Struck at Herat, the Seat of Sovereignty). The date (1214) is over the - S - of - Sultanat -. Dotted field. Border of dots.
