Obverse:
Persian legend. In small foliated area in centre the Ruler's name and title (from top to bottom: Durr Ahmad Shah / Durran = Ahmad Shah Pearl of Pearls). Surrounding the area the Couplet (Hokam shod az Qadir bi-chun be-Ahmad badshah sikkah zan bar sim wa zar auj mahi ta be-mah = The command come from the Powerful One, who has none like Him, to Ahmad the Emperor, to strike coin on silver and gold from the height of the Fish up to the Moon). Border of dots between two linear circles.

Reverse:
Persian legend. Mint name and Julus formula (from bottom to top: Zarb / manus Bhakhar maimanat / julus = Struck at Bhakhar (in his) reign associated with prosperity). Date (1184) at bottom. Border of dots in foliation.
