Afghanistan – Durrani Dynasty – Taimur Shah, as King (AH 1186-1207 / AD 1772-1793). Rupee AH 127 (sic!) RY 12 (sic!), Mint: Ahmadshahi (Ashrafu-l-bilad) / Qandahar, Silver (ø 23 mm – w. 11.45 g.). Edge: plain. KM 124. A 3100. Whitehead 424.

Obverse:
Persian legend. In a linear cirlce the Couplet with the Ruler's name (xxx = The revolution (of the heavens) brings gold and silver from the sun and the moon, in order that may make on the face (of the metal) the design of the stamp of Taimur Shah). Border of dots.

Reverse:
Persian legend. In a linerar circle the Mint name with epithet, the date and the regnal year (In a mixed order: Zarb Ashrafu-l-bilad Ahmad S[hah]i = Struck at Ahmadshahi, the Most Noble of the Cities). The regnal year (12) is below the bottom line at left. The date (127) is above the bottom line at right. Border of dots.
