Bare head to right, engraver's name below (L.GIORGI), Italian legend around: King's name and title (VITTORIO EMANUELE III RE D'ITALIA = Vittorio Emanuele III King of Italy). Beaded border.

Reverse:
Denomination in Italian and Persian in for lines in centre (UNA RUPIA / 1 Rupya = One Rupee), the italian royal Crown above. Italian legend at top, state's name (SOMALIA ITALIANA = Italian Somaliland), date (1915) between two tiny five-pointed stars at bottom, small mint mark (R. = Rome) above the date, a branch of roses at either side. Beaded border.
