In centre within a double circle the Shahada, or Kalima-e-Tayyab, (from top to bottom: La Ilah illa Allah / Mohammad Rasul Allah = (There is) no god but Allah (and) Muhammad (is the) Messenger (of) Allah). In the margin the names of the four Caliphs without attributes and the Ruler's titles (clockwise, starting at 7 o'clock: (mint mark: star) al-Sultan / al-Adil / Abu Bakr / Umar / Uthman / Ali = (mint mark: star) the Sultan, the Just, Abu Bakr, Omar, Osman, Alì).
Reverse: Persian legend. In centre within a double circle the Ruler's name, title and pius wish, Mint name below (from top to bottom: Shah Sultan Sher / Khallad Allah mulkahu / Sharifabad = Sher Shah, (the) Sultan, may Allah perpetuate his reign / (struck at) Sharifabad). In the margin the Ruler's laqab and kunyah, with his name in Nagari and the date (clockwise, starting at 8 o'clock: Farid al-dunya wa'l din Abu al-Muzaffar 951 (in Nagari, from left to right: Sri Sar Shah) = Unique One of the world and of the faith, Father of the Victorius, 951, (in Nagari: Sri Sher Shah)).
