Reverse: Arms of the German East Africa Company, palm-tree and lion in cartouche with date (1890) at bottom, within circle. German legend around: Company's name above (DEUTSCH-OSTAFRIKANISCHE GESELLSCHAFT = German East Africa Company) and value, between two five-pointed stars, below (EINE RUPIE = One Rupee).
