Persian legend. Couplet with the Ruler's name and titles (from bottom to top: [Zad bar Haft Kishwar] Sikkah / Sayah Fazl Hami din / llah Muhammad Shah ‘Alam Badshah = Struck coin through the seven climes, (the shadow) of the divine favour, Shah Alam, the Emperor, the defender of the Faith of Mohammed). Divided date ([1]1-78) in the central line at left. Mint marks in field.

Reverse:
