Reverse: Shah's arms in centre: a fish between two human figures, bare-headed, standing on a scroll, supporting a crown with one hand and holding a fly whisk in the other. Numeral 1 above the fish. Persian legend around: Country name, Mint name with epithet and Julus formula (clockwise, starting at bottom left: Zarb Suba Awadh Bait es-Sultanat Lakhnau sanah ahd julus maimanat manus = Struck in the Province of Awadh, at the House of the Sultanate, Lucknow, (in the) First year (of his) reign associated with prosperity).
