Obverse: Persian legend. Couplet with the Ruler's name and titles (from bottom to top: [Za]d bar Haft Kish[war] S[ikkah] / [Sa]yah Fazl Hami din / [llah Muhammad Shah ‘Alam Badshah] = Struck coin through the seven climes, the shadow of the divine favour, Shah Alam, the Emperor, the defender of the Faith of Mohammed). Mint marks: Flag Flower, Tridend and tiny closed Flower (in the central line, from left to right), Trefoil (above the top line at left).
Reverse: Persian legend. Mint name and Julus formula (from bottom to top: [Ravi]shnagar Saga[r] zarb / sanat 29 julus / maimanat [manus] = struck at Ravishnagar Sagar, (in the) year 29 (of his) reign associated with prosperity). Mint marks: six-pointed Star and Cross patonce (in the central line, from left to right), tiny Flower (above the top line at right).
