# 664Rupee AD 1938 George VIIndia G British - Empire British India – Imperial period (AD 1858-1947) – George VI (1936-1952). Rupee 1938. Mint: Bombay (w/o bead privy mark), Silver (ø 30.5 mm – w. 11.68 g.). Edge: grained. Pridmore 233. KM 555.
Obverse: Head of Emperor George VI to left wearning the Imperial Crown. Legend around: rurler's name and titles (GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR), a dot below the head. Decorative toothed border.
Reverse: Legend in centre within a plain line circle. English denomination above (.ONE. / .RUPEE.) and State's name with date below (.INDIA. / -1938-), Persian denomination below the date (Yek Rupiya = One Rupee). The whole surrounded by a saracenic scroll composed of conventional representations of a rose, thistle and shamrock. At top and bottom the Indian lotus. All within another plain line circle. Decorative toothed border.
