Persian legend. Ruler's name and title in centre (from top to bottom: Shir / Alì / Amir = Sher Alì, the Amir), Kalima around (clockwise, starting at 8 o'clock: La ilah illa Allah Mohammed Rasul Allah = (There is) no god but Allah (and) Muhammad (is the) Messenger (of) Allah).

Revese:
Persian legend. Denomination in centre (Yak Rupya = One Rupee), Mint name with epithet around (clockwise, starting at 6 o'clock: Zarb Dar al-Sultanat Kabul = Struck at the Abode of the Sultanate, Kabul). Date at right (fi-sanah 1294 = in the year 1294).
